PM: Malaysia needs to do more to brand itself as a great place for investment
News Update by Shahanaaz of The Star
KUALA LUMPUR: The Prime Minister has called for a concerted effort to brand Malaysia as a nation that emphasises on quality, security, service and efficiency.
Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said it was unfortunate the country was consistently plagued by a perception problem that afflicted the decision making process of many foreign investors.
"Clearly, we are not doing enough to publicise our efforts and we are not realising our full potential to effectively market and brand Malaysia.
"Much more can and should be done. Malaysia is truly a secret and needs to be discovered," he said at the Invest Malaysia 2005 conference.
