Hsien Loong invites Pak Lah to visit Singapore
SINGAPORE: Singapore's Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong has invited Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi to visit the republic.
This is not only for an official visit but also one which could further create warmth, friendship and understanding between both countries, said Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Syed Hamid Albar.
He said the invitation was extended when he made a courtesy call on Lee.
Syed Hamid said Lee had emphasised how important it was for the two countries to forge close bilateral relations.
“Lee also looked at today’s agreement signing (on Singapore's land reclamation) as a positive achievement and wants this to be used as a reference point to settle other disputes between Malaysia and Singapore, while other countries in the region could also learn how complicated problems could be solved in a civilised manner,” he added.
