Malaysians’ pilgrimage to famous temple in India made easier

HINDU devotees going on pilgrimage to the Tirupathi Ven-gadewaran temple in India no longer need to wait for hours to fulfil their vows, Malaysia Nanban reports.

For a start the Sunraraj Perumal temple in Klang is offering to register the names and particulars of prospective pilgrims to make advance bookings for them.

An official from the Tirupathi Vengadewaran temple has also given an assurance that it would open a registration centre for Malaysian devotees.

Administrative officer A.V. Tharmareddy, who attended a religious function in Klang, said the temple management also provides budget accommodation with vegetarian meals within the premises.

The Tirupathi Vengadewaran temple draws millions of Hindu devotees from all over the world. Many have to wait for as long as 40 hours to fulfil their religious obligations.

Tamil Nesan said 37 squatter families affected by development projects in Batu Caves have been given letters of assurance for homes at the 16-storey flats being built by Wira Damai near Pinggiran Batu Caves.

Sungai Tua assemblyman V. Thiagarajan had brought their grouses to the attention of Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Mohamed Khir Toyo.
