Iran president arrives in Syria on solidarity visit
DAMASCUS (Reuters) - Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad arrived in Syria on Thursday on a two-day visit to show solidarity between the two allies, both facing prospects of showdowns with the U.N. Security Council.
Ahmadinejad, on his first trip to Damascus since taking office in August, will hold talks with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and sign a number of bilateral economic agreements, officials said.
