Abdullah later visited Women, Family and Community Development Ministry parliamentary secretary Datin Paduka Chew Mei Fun at the Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital where she is recuperating from Sundays car accident near Maran.
In Pekan, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, said the estuary of the Pahang River at Kampung Tanjung Agas would be closed to overcome the worsening flood in Pekan.
The estuary had hampered the flow of floodwater to the sea, causing it to almost converge on Kampung Pulau Syed Hassan.
